Redeemer’s Chicago campus is located at the corner of North Avenue and Oak Park Avenue, a busy crossroads connecting the Galewood and Austin neighborhoods of Chicago with the suburban communities of Oak Park, Elmwood Park, and River Forest. You are welcome to use the parking lot next to the church, and there is also some street parking available.
Our community gathers for worship on Sunday morning at 9am and 11:15am. The music is led by a full band featuring guitars, bass, drums, keyboards, and vocals. Our worship service includes multimedia — images and video on the screen accompany the message, and song lyrics are also projected on the screen.
We like to change things up and experiment with different types of music and prayer, but our Sunday service always include a message and Holy Communion.
People at Redeemer dress anywhere from very casual (flip flops in summer) to business casual, with an occasional suit in the mix. There are small tables in the back of the worship space, and some parents with young children find that those work well for kids who want to draw or color during the service. “Busy bags” with coloring books, puzzles, etc., are ready and waiting for the little ones.
Our worship service lasts about an hour. During the message, the youngest children are invited to go downstairs and play if parents prefer, supervised by our childcare attendants.
After worship, people hang around and have coffee, cold drinks, and a pretty awesome spread of snacks while they connect with new friends or reconnect with old ones.
We believe that you’ll find friendly faces when you visit Redeemer. We want you to feel comfortable and welcome and free to participate in whatever way you choose.
